OutDoor Exposure (ODE) is based in Melbourne Australia. We are in Laverton just off the Melb/Geelong Highway.
ODE acts as a focal point for Retail sales and Rentals, Outdoor Training, Corporate Training and Activity Tours from Melbourne to just about anywhere. We also take school groups and individuals and give them a taste of the great outdoor experience that we have all grown up with, be it in the Surf, Sea Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Skiing or many other activities.
ODE is the city based element of The Australian Alpine Institute which is based at Mt Buller Ski Resort.
Most people decide to register with us by clicking on the "Registration" link . We have a Membership Loyalty Program which gets you 10% off all prices. It also allows us to tell you when we land some great deals or if we're putting on extra day trips in the school Holidays etc. Nobody will sell your email and it's very easy to unregister.
GEAR
At Laverton we specialise in offering quality and affordable outdoor gear and giving as much advice as you like. We look like a normal shop but once inside we'll help you get the right gear, not the most expensive. You can come and sit down over a coffee and go through the catalogues, talk it through with one of our guys, then we order it in for you or take it from the shelf. All of us have been using his gear all our lives so we know a fair bit about it, and we simply don't stock lousy gear. We're building our second hand gear collection so if you want to sell through us, you can.
TOURS
We run instructor level training courses in most outdoor activities (and anything up to that level) Also we specialise in Corporate Training Programs and School Trips with a strong educational element. Many are Bush or Coastal so we use our Mt Buller venue as a base or we camp at the coast.
Day trips run all Summer from Laverton and include Climbing/Abseiling, Surfing, Kayaking, Jetskiing, Wake and Waterskiing, and general fun. The Summer 2009 cost of a day tour is $66. (All prices are Australian dollars and include GST)
Winter Tours begin when the snow arrives . . . which means you've missed them for 09 . . . it's a pity because they were excellent
RENTALS
Most of our products are for hire (although recently we have taken inflateables off the list) For instance a sit-on kayak/paddle/vest will cost you $100 for a week. Then if you choose to buy it we knock the rental price off the purchase price. Not bad at all...
If you're coming from Melbourne, jump off the freeway at Point Cook Rd/Laverton exit (at a servo), turn right over the bridge and right again at the other side...and there we are on the right. Plenty of parking space around the back.
